This piece was a prototype for one of my first attempts at a technique known as a “plunger pickup” . A traditional Venetian glass technique involving arranging murrini tiles into a pattern and stretched into a bubble to form a vessel. One of my all time favorite techniques that I use in a lot of my work today. It also has some small sections of engraved ‘batutto’ cut patterns on the surface for some added texture.
